Money Movez: Cook or Be Cooked Cohort – One-Year Program Overview
Program Structure:
- Monthly Virtual Meetups (2 hours):
- 1st Hour – Impact Learning: Focused workshops covering business skills, financial literacy, career readiness, and personal growth.
- 2nd Hour – Hands-On Activities: Practical exercises such as budgeting simulations, goal-setting tasks, mock interviews, and business plan development.
Field Trips (6 Total): Each trip is tailored to align with students’ career interests, providing real-world experience and networking opportunities.
Sample trips include:
- Visit to a Local Business Incubator
- College Campus Tour and Financial Aid Workshop
- Networking Day with Industry Professionals
- Community Service Project with Local Organizations
- Investment and Finance Workshop at a Credit Union
- Career Exploration Day with an Industry Leader
Yearly Scope and Sequence:
- Quarter 1: Goal Setting, SMART Goals, Budgeting Basics, and Opening a Savings Account
- Quarter 2: Business Development, Building a Portfolio, Resume Writing, and Interview Skills
- Quarter 3: Networking Skills, Internships, and Scholarship Research
- Quarter 4: College Essay Writing, College Funding Negotiation, and Capstone Project Presentation

- Interactive Learning: Monthly virtual workshops combining impactful lessons and hands-on experiences
- Real-World Experience: Six career-aligned field trips
- Expert Guidance: Monthly mentoring sessions with industry professionals
